Ideas for conversation topics with your lover

Sometimes when you become a parent, life as a couple takes a back seat, and when you're in love, topics of conversation other than your children can become scarce. So here are some examples of topics for a romantic moment.

1. Ask questions about topics you know he is interested in .

-His day

-His work

-His or her past (when he or she was little)

-His passions

2. Stay informed.

If there is at least a break, you can ask him if he has heard anything about a certain news item, if he agrees with a subject that was on TV, etc.!

3. Talk about hypothetical situations

Would you rather be blind or deaf? Would you choose to live off spinach rather than listen to Christmas carols for 8 hours a day for the rest of your life? Try to find interesting, funny, or complicated situations and ask your boyfriend which he would prefer. When he answers, ask him to defend his choice.

Play devil's advocate. Present a counterargument to your boyfriend's point so he'll have to reevaluate his choice. Make it clear that you're simply trying to make the conversation more interesting; at no point are you trying to disagree.

Some more hypothetical questions to ask: "What keeps you up at night?" "If you could live your life over again, what would you do differently?" and "What couldn't you live without in life?" (or alternatively, "If you could keep only 10 things, what would they be?")

4. Ask him to tell you something about himself or a fact that you don't know.

5. Flatter him.

Tell him how, and why, you enjoyed a particular date. For example, you might say, "I loved it when you took me out to dinner. He was so handsome that I felt special."

6. Discuss the future.

-If you had to go back to school, what field would you go into?

-Where would you like to live?

-Where do you want to travel?

-What leisure activities would you like to do?

-What kind of house would you like?
